Clean rooms, clean rooms | Conformity

Employees working in a clean room

The clean room is actually a clean room that meets the ISO 14644-1 standard. It is a room or a series of rooms where the particle concentration is minimal and controlled. This type of general piece is found at the industrial level or at the level of scientific research. All relative humidity, temperature and pressure parameters are maintained at specific levels according to ISO 14644-1. The air is also filtered (HEPA filter) to eliminate as much particles as possible. They are generally used in areas where environmental contamination could have a significant impact. We are talking here about the fields of semiconductor device manufacturing, biotechnology, biology, the agri-food industry, sterile pharmaceuticals, and so on.

There is a specific classification for the clean room type. To determine the class to which the part belongs, the amount of dust per unit volume is taken into account. A particle counter is used to determine the number of particles in a given volume. The only particles considered for classification are those between 0.1 μm and 5 μm.
